Every Promise !
Dear Friend,
Recently, I’ve been meditating on this scripture and I mean frequently. I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. Psalms 37:25. As I’ve started edging closer to 50, I’ve recognized this is SO true, when I try to go back and research any promise that God has EVER made me, I’ve not found one that’s not been fulfilled.
His Promises:
To Protect Me: Psalms 91
To Provide for Me: Matthew 6:21-33
To Love Me: Romans 8:35-39
To Be With Me: Matthew 28:20
To Give Me Rest: Matthew 11:28-29
To Give Me Comfort: Revelation 21:4
To Give Me Peace: John 16:33
To Give Me Joy: John 15:10–12
To Vindicate Me: Isaiah 50:8
To Favor Me: Psalms 5:12
To Correct Me: Hebrews 12:6
As I sit and reflect, God has NOT neglected to fulfill any promise in my life, as a matter of fact He’s been consistent, I haven’t always. I can attest to that fact because in so many seasons, when my faith was wavering (sometimes more tiny than the mustard seed), He was still faithful. A little while ago, I was going through “My something for Jesus to do” list. I had asked God to bless me with a certain amount of money for something for the boys. As a matter of fact the date was 2/23/20. The first week in July a woman of God, contacted me and said it’s on my heart to do something for you and the boys, not the ministry. I was about to say we were fine, and the Holy Spirit said, “Wait don’t answer that.” After prayer, I responded to her later and told her what we needed (never giving her a dollar amount). She said she was going to send a “certain” amount on Friday.
When I got the PayPal (7/10/20) from her, it was more than what she said. When I was in my book checking off prayers God had answered, the Holy Spirit nudged me to reflect on what I saw, "He said now is that not what she sent? I am that literal, LaKisha. I’m always going to take care of you, my every promise to you is Yes and Amen." I will tell you this, I used to be a worrier, and I used to think everything had to be done within my control. I had to get my eyes off things and I had to stop worrying about timing (God’s promises never expire)! I had to make a decision to get to know Him, not just to serve Him (remember its not about works see Ephesians 2:9) . I had to make the decision to follow the Kingdom plan (see 2 Corinthians 1:20). So as I reflect today, I can honestly say, I’ve never lacked ANYTHING and nor have my boys. I'm in complete AWE of God's goodness and faithfulness, He has been consistent and He has been faithful. I can't think of one moment He has not!
Blessed,
LMJ
