Early Bird...
Dear Friend,
Remember back in the day Black Friday, Door Buster Sales, you know... B.A. (life before Amazon) nothing shrieked anxiousness like the announcement of an early bird special at your favorite department store. This usually implied that the earlier you arrived the better your chances were to benefit from lower prices within a limited selection of merchandise. But for me, knowing that I saved a couple coins or maybe even picked up a few extra items at a discounted rate felt like a pretty good deal! In Psalm 63:1 | KJV we are charged to seek Him early. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is... There’s something about getting up early! There’s something about seeking His face early before all the noise of the day attempts to drown Him out. Think about the birds of air. Have you ever seen birds out pecking through the grass at high noon? That is not usually the case. Most often we see them out and about first thing in the morning in the cool of the day. Just like birds awake early He also calls us to commune with Him early to get in quality time with Him at the first of our day. He gently calls us to intimate worship and communion early before all the noise. Right at the brink of the freshness of the day. Let us search for Him. Let us keep Him priority above anyone or anything else! Ask Him to birth a hunger and desire like never before within you. And watch Him do just that! Seeking Him Earlier, Jess
