There's a Better Perspective

Dear Friends,

As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. Proverbs 27:19 NIV

I read a story about a high school coach who would disappear somewhere in the middle of the third quarter of the football games. The player reflected on how this was his first year as a varsity player, and he looked up from the sidelines and noticed that his coach was gone. So, he decided to ask another more seasoned player where the coach had gone. He told him, that he had gone to the press box, to get a better perspective of the game. Seems to make sense right? How could the coach really get a good perspective of the game watching it from the sidelines? The crowd is yelling, parents complaining or cheering, and players screaming. He needed to get away from the noise, so he could see everything from the right perspective.

So many of us need to do the same thing. There must come a point in which we pull away from the noise of life to get fresh perspective. God longs to have this time with us and the Holy Spirit longs to reveal to us the game plan for life. Much like the high school coach, we must get away from everyone and everything to a place of prayer; a place to self-reflect and mediate on God’s word; a place to ensure that our reception to hear God’s voice has no connection issues. A quiet place to listen, recommit our hearts, and repent if necessary.

Let's take the time to stop in the middle of the game (our walk in life) to gain God’s perspective so we can come up higher, get clarity, and stay focused.

I Corinthians 2:11 (AMP) For what person knows the thoughts and motives of a man except the man’s spirit within him? So also no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

There’s a better perspective,

Chanda Rose
