A Consistent God!

Dear Friend,

Ever had black jelly beans or licorice? Most would raise their hand high with a smirk of grimace on their face. Just the thought of it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. Now this might not be the case for some but it’s probably the story of many! The fact is that black licorice and jelly beans have been consistently the same flavor for years! Think of the consistency of the company to keep this flavor the same all this time!

I’ve assumed that the words constant and consistent have had the pretty much the same meaning but their is a slight variation. We can actually use these two separately or together to describe the amazing God we serve. Check out the definition of consistent and consistent...

Constant

adjective

occurring continuously over a period of time.

Noun

a situation or state of affairs that does not change.

Consistent

Adjective

  1. unchanging in nature, standard, or effect over time.

  1. compatible or in agreement with something.

In James 1:17 it reads, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”

Everything God is and does is consistent and constant! Just like the jelly beans and licorice whenever you bite into them you’ll taste the same flavor and respond (most likely) with the consistent response of satisfaction or disgust!

Let us celebrate and give thanks for how awesome our God is for being consistent and constant! Remember God can never change! It’s established and settled. Anything else is nothing but a lie.

And besides life’s too short to live stressed when you’re JessBlessed!
