What She said..
Dear Friend,
I’m pretty sure we all can just about remember the infamous game, Telephone! In this game one would have to simply repeat the exact sentence that the person before them shared. The statement really should never have changed, but somehow always did. My son was asked to go get his brother. He was asked to say, “Mom needs you to come to the room.” Pretty simple right? But instead I heard him gallop down the hall and boldly say, “ Mom said that you need to put the game back and go in the room because you are in trouble!” His tone, delivery, and the words of the message was nothing that I had stated. This caused immediate dissension betweeen the two boys and I went into the living room to intervene. When I spoke with the messenger I reminded him to be honest and not to add anything to my words...
God is a good Father! His word is enough all by itself. And He too asks that we not add anything to His word too!
Deuteronomy 4:2 instructs to “not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you.”
Jesus even said only what God said when he was face to face with the enemy. He replied, “It is written three times when the enemy tried to add and take away from the Word. (See Matthew 4:2-11)
When we stand firm on the Word we have an assurance that it will come to past! All we have to do is say what the Word says and let it work on our behalf! So let us not add or take anything away from His Word; instead let’s obey!
Besides life’s too short to live stressed when you’re JessBlessed!
