Behold, A New Thing!
Dear Friend,
I need to be honest, I have always been a creature of habit. I like my schedule, "my" rhythm, I h ave always done things in a certain way, but I heard God say, "I am doing a new thing, not because of a new year, because of this season and cycle in your life. See our life operates in seasons and in cycles (see Eccl 3:1-22). So in this season God is asking us to come out our comfort zones. As a matter of fact we have to be willing to allow God to navigate us beyond our comfort zones, beyond our schedules or rhythm. This may be difficult for some of us, but if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land (see Isaiah 1:19).
I want to share with you something I read. I didn't write this, but this is devotional worthy!
10 Scriptures to Pray Over Your New Season in Life. *
Lord make your make your strength perfect in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9: "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
2. Lord give me wisdom. James 1:5-8: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
3. Lord show me the path of life. Psalm 16:11: "You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
4. Do everything you desire to do new, in me Lord. Isaiah 43:18-19: "'Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.'"
5. Give me ears to hear you Lord. Psalm 40:6: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, 'Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart.'"
6. Give me eyes to see you Lord. John 5:19: "Then Jesus answered and said to them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.'"
7. Father God, please do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think! Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
8. Lord, make a way for me where there seems to be no way! Isaiah 43:16: "Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters..."
9. Help me to be strong and of good courage, so I can prosper! Joshua 1:7: "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go."
10. Father glorify, your own name. John 12:27-28: "'Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ' Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.' Then a voice came from heaven, saying, 'I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.'"
Friend, I am praying for you feverishly for a relationship with God, that yields fruit ALL year long.
In a New Season,
LMJ
