Do It Again!

Luke 5:4-6 “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch." 5Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets." 6When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.”

I remember when one of my sons learned to tie his shoe, he would get frustrated because it seemed like it wasn’t working. He began to loop over and under and pull through, again and again, and it seemed to never work. He had gotten so frustrated that he didn’t want to wear shoes with laces. I remember one day a little cousin of mine, sat down and said let me show you a different way to tie your shoe. She gave him a different perspective of how to look at tying his shoe, by the end of the day, he was good at it, over the next few weeks, he looked like a pro. Why did it work now? I think because he had the right teacher, that she instilled a confidence in him that gave him a different perspective, she definitely motivated him and he finally learned.

Perhaps there are things that you have tried in your life, and they didn’t work the first time. I know I have before, no matter how hard I tried, they didn’t seem to work. It seemed no matter how hard I tried, that It wasn’t going to happen or it may have happened and then fail. I am sure Peter and the other disciples felt like this when they came back from fishing. I am learning that timing and being in covenant partnership with Jesus is the key to everything. He has a way of making things happen for you, He just needs you to trust Him. John 14:13, “And whatever you ask in my name, I will do.” Perhaps it didn’t work the first time, because we left Jesus out of the equation. Like my son, you needed the right teacher and it had to happen at the right time. Don’t be afraid to do it again, especially if you hear the Lord say, do it now. In the “now” is a blessing, a miracle, a sign of your covenant partnership between you and Christ. It only make sense, why would God give you a vision to fail, he wouldn’t because then He couldn’t get the glory out of your life. So try it again, ask for the wisdom (James 1:5) for it, and try, try again.

Prayer: Father thank you for timing and seasons. Thank you for our covenant partnership with you that, guarantees success. Give us a new perspective and vision for your will for our life, in Jesus Name. Amen
