Hungry and Thirsty

Dear Friends,

"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.' Matthew 5:6 KJV 'Blessed {joyfully, nourished by God's goodness} are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness {those who actively seek right standing with God} for they will be {completely satisfied}' Matthew 5:6 AMP

During this time the people of Galilee had probably gone several days without food and drink, most of us have never experienced this. On yesterday, I had waited late to eat. I, knew if I had sought something quick to put in my body it would have not have been nourishing, it would have been most likely fast food, and I would have been hungry again. So, I waited to get a meal that would not only satisfy my hunger but would be nourishing to my body.

We can find food and drink with no problem, we do it instinctively. No one has to remind us to do those things. Then, how much more in the spiritual should we be hungering and thirsting after the God's Righteousness? I love how Jesus, encourages us with a guaranteed promise that if we actively seek right standing with God, that we would be completely satisfied.

John 6:35, Jesus replied to them, "I am the Bread of Life. The one who comes to Me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in Me {as Savior} will never be thirsty {for that one will be sustained spiritually}.

Just as satisfying our hunger and thirst in the natural sustains us. Jesus in letting us know when we eat and drink of His righteousness, He alone will sustain us spiritually." God promises to feed the hungry heart, and thirst in your soul. However, no one can force us to eat, nor drink, it is up to us, I can admonish each of us to pull up to God's buffet (His sixty-six-book love letter) and eat and drink until you are completely satisfied. Repeat as often as you need naturally, you need it spiritually too.

His Righteousness Always Satisfies, Chanda Rose
