Love Covers

Dear Friend,

I recently attempted to remove paint splatters off of an appliance. Using a small amount of acetone I assumed it would gently remove the paint only. It worked alright! It removed the white paint and the black finish on the appliance! As I watched the appearance of the appliance slowly began to get dull I knew it was too late. Now there’s no white paint and a dull black circle in its place. I tried to cover it with a black permanent marker but that didn’t work...the mistake could clearly be seen.

Thank God that when we make mistakes they are always covered by love!

1 Peter 4:8 says, Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a

multitude of sins.

His love can't be blotted out with a thinner. His Love covers but not just on the surface...it goes deep!

The word love in this scripture refers to agape love. Or in other words the unconditional God kind of love. This love is not the love of man. It’s actually beyond what we can grasp or fathom. And it is what covers us at all times. It is the love we should allow to flow through us and pour out on

others! The scripture goes on to say that it covers a multitude of sins (or shortcomings/moments when we miss it) Multitude ain’t nothing small! It refers to a crowd, large amount, or great number.

That means no matter how great the individual mistake may be or even how many times we make mistakes the agape love of God is able to cover it!

Be reminded today and let the truth of His Word dispel all fear that your mistakes are too much for Him to handle. The light and Glory of God has the power outshines every flaw you’ve made or will ever make!
