Pennies Add Up by the Anonymous Wife

Dear Friends,

You’re taking a stroll and you spot some pennies on the ground. How many of you would pick them up? Now change the scenario and imagine it’s a $20 bill. Would you pick that up? Like many of you I would hesitate to pick up the pennies.

Why is it that we would take the time to pick up one and not the other? Do both not transfer to American currency? In a situation where one might be trying to add up will not both amounts contribute to a higher number. Don’t be foolish enough to only focus on the $20 missing the pennies along the way. A wise person will notice both and use both to greater their wealth. To say I will only pick up $20 is foolish, for what if along the same path there are no $20s but rather 10,000 pennies?

I’m exaggerating to make a point but think on this friends. God’s messages and blessings come in all shapes and sizes. Will you be so foolish to turn down one blessing for something much larger, or something you’ve been waiting for, for longer. Will you miss out on being blessed entirely?

I’m preaching to the choir here. This one is most definitely for me. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve said, “Well God that’s not what I wanted.” I sound like a spoiled child on Christmas morning. Is God incapable of blessing me more? As if accepting this gift and praising God for it means never receiving from Him again. God is not a man! I can praise Him for the gift He has given and expect more to come my way!

Pick up the pennies! Look for all the blessings. Can you imagine that you’ve asked God for $25 and he sends a $20 and the rest of he value in pennies. If you’re only looking for $20, you’ll think He’s cut you short.

I’m ready today to receive ALL that God has for me. I choose to maximize every gift. In this season of life I can’t afford to be selective.

Psalm 100: 1-5

1

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

2

Worship the Lord with gladness;

come before him with joyful songs.

3

Know that the Lord is God.

It is he who made us, and we are his[a];

we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4

Enter his gates with thanksgiving

and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name.

5

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;

his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Abundantly With Love,

The Anonymous Wife
